4.2 Instrument maintenance
4.2.1 Performing checks
• Take sure to ensure that the instrument complies with the required line voltage (e.g. on the HBO 100
transformer).
• Check the power cable and plug for defects.
• If any damage is visible, switch off the instrument. Have the instrument repaired only by a qualified
technician.
• Ensure that the maximum operation time of the halogen and mercury vapor short-arc lamps is not
exceeded.
4.2.2 Changing fuses
Always pull the power plug before
changing the fuses.
The fuse compartment is on the back of the
microscope. It is combined with the instrument
socket and contains two T 1 A/H 250 V fuses.
• Pull the power plug.
• Pull out fuse holder (4-1/1) until it can be folded
down.
• Remove the fuses from the holder upwards and
insert new fuses.
• Fold up the fuse holder and push it back into
the compartment as far as it will go.
• Insert the power plug in the outlet.
